Ask Sidekick about your store data

Shopify Sidekick is the AI assistant inside the Shopify admin, and Alva Digital Downloads connects it to your digital-downloads data. Ask a question in plain English and Sidekick reads the answer straight from your store — storage, files, sales, customers, fraud, license-key stock and setup gaps. Every look-up is read-only and scoped to your shop.

Ask Sidekick about your store data

Alva Digital Downloads gives Sidekick eleven read-only data tools that cover storage, files, sales, customers, orders, fraud, personalized orders, license-key stock and setup gaps. You ask a question in natural language; Sidekick picks the right tool, queries Alva's backend for your shop, and shows the answer. Nothing is changed by a question.

Every answer is scoped to your shop and read directly from your live data. Where a result is an order, Sidekick can make it clickable straight into an action — covered in the last section below.

Questions about storage, files and sales

Alva Digital Downloads answers storage, file and sales questions from your account. Sidekick reports storage used against your plan limit, searches your uploaded files, lists your most-downloaded files in a recent window, and summarises orders, revenue, downloads and top products over a period you choose.

  • "What's my storage usage?" or "Am I close to my storage limit?" — used storage in MB against your plan limit, as a percentage.
  • "Find my PDF files" or "Show files over 100 MB" — search uploaded files by name, type and size.
  • "Which files had the most downloads this week?" — your most-downloaded files in a recent window.
  • "How are my digital products doing this month?" — orders, revenue, downloads and top products over the window.

Questions about customers, orders and downloads

Alva Digital Downloads connects Sidekick to your customer and order data. Sidekick searches orders by email or recency, tells you whether a customer has downloaded yet, looks up a specific customer's orders, and surfaces orders whose download access is at risk — revoked, at the limit, or near the IP cap.

  • "Show orders from the last 24 hours that haven't downloaded yet." — recent orders filtered by download status.
  • "What did john@example.com buy and did they download it?" — a single customer's orders, with download and access state.
  • "Any download issues in the last day?" — at-risk orders: access revoked, at or over the limit, or near the per-order IP cap.
Why it says "at-risk", not "failed"

Alva does not log failed download attempts, so Sidekick can't show a literal failure log. Instead it lists orders whose access is revoked, at or over the download limit, or near the per-order IP limit — the orders most likely to be a real problem.

Questions about fraud, personalized orders and license keys

Alva Digital Downloads exposes your fraud queue, pending personalized orders and license-key inventory to Sidekick. Sidekick reports how many orders are waiting for fraud review, which personalized orders are still awaiting an uploaded file, and which license-key tags are at or below their low-stock threshold.

  • "How many orders are waiting for fraud review?" — fraud-queue orders with risk level and approval status.
  • "Which custom orders are overdue?" — personalized purchases still awaiting their customer-specific file.
  • "Which license-key tags are running low?" — available, assigned and total counts, flagged when at or below the low-stock threshold.

Find setup gaps (products with no delivery)

Alva Digital Downloads can list active Shopify products with no digital delivery configured. Sidekick returns products that have no active mapping, or a mapping with zero files, packs or links — the products that won't deliver anything after purchase. On large catalogues the scan is bounded.

  • "Which products aren't set up to deliver files yet?" — active products with no Alva digital delivery configured.

Turn an answer into an action

Some Sidekick results are clickable straight into an action. When a data result is an order, Sidekick can hand it to the matching action page in the Alva admin, where you review and confirm. The data look-up stays read-only; the action only commits when you click Confirm.

  • An order from a customer or download search → resend the download email.
  • An at-risk order → manage download access (restore, extend expiry, or raise the limit).
  • A fraud-flagged order → approve or reject it.
  • A pending personalized order → mark it complete.

Informational results — storage, files, license-key stock, the sales summary and unmapped products — aren't clickable into an action; they're there to inform a decision.

Frequently asked questions

What kinds of questions can I ask Sidekick about Alva?

Sidekick answers questions about storage usage, file search, top files, a sales summary, customer and order look-ups, at-risk downloads, the fraud queue, pending personalized orders, license-key stock, and products with no digital delivery set up yet.

Is the data Sidekick shows me live?

Yes. Every answer is read directly from your store at the moment you ask, scoped to your shop, so the numbers reflect your current data rather than a cached snapshot.

Why does Sidekick say 'at-risk orders' instead of 'failed downloads'?

Alva Digital Downloads does not log failed download attempts, so Sidekick surfaces orders whose access is revoked, at or over the download limit, or near the per-order IP cap instead of a literal failure log.

Can Sidekick see another store's data?

No. Every look-up is scoped to your shop. Sidekick resolves your shop from the authenticated session and queries only your data, so it can never read another merchant's store.
