Is there a file size limit on Alva uploads

Alva Digital Downloads supports individual files up to 5 GB; the total storage available to a shop depends on plan tier.

Single-file cap

The hard cap is 5 GB per file. Any binary format works inside that limit — PDF, ZIP, MP4, WAV, EXE, PSD, blend, indd, and so on. Files at or under 5 GB upload directly to Alva's secure storage in a single request; files larger than 5 GB are not accepted by the upload form.

Plan-tier storage allotment

Each shop has a separate total-storage allotment that scales with plan tier. The free plan covers a small starter library; paid plans raise the ceiling. For the current per-plan numbers, see which Alva features require a paid plan.

Practical advice for files near 5 GB

For files close to 5 GB, ask customers to use a download manager rather than streaming the file in a browser tab. Alva serves time-limited download links that expire shortly after generation, so any pause or retry must complete within that window — a download manager that sends a single sustained request handles this cleanly.
